NBC signs an agreement with CNBC

The Namibian Broadcasting Corporation (NBC) has signed a partnership agreement with the Consumer News and Business Channel (CNBC) Africa better business news coverage for Namibia, says a report by the Namibian on the 8th September 2011.

The agreement will also see CNBC Africa, a business news channel, featuring more Namibian content on the network across sub-Saharan Africa. CNBC Africa's managing director, Gary Alfonso, said apart from focusing on big businesses in Namibia, the business news channel would also focus on stories of local entrepreneurs and business ownership.

"We would like to see Namibian business stories, and what we can do is to help tell these stories for the investors out there as part of the African economic growth story," he said.

CNBC Africa is distributed in 49 countries in sub-Saharan Africa via Digital Satellite Television (DStv). It has bureaus in Kenya, Nigeria and South Africa. //End//
