MISA-Tanzania AGC Amends Constitution

MISA-Tanzania members at the Annual General Congress (AGC) on 29 August 2009 passed a resolution to change the chapter’s Constitution in compliance with MISA Regional Annual General Meeting, 2008 resolutions. The gender quota has been moved from 30% to 50% and the tenure of office for NGC members from the current 2 years to 3 years.

The current changes of tenure of office mean that the Chapter will be holding its elections in the same year as the other chapters in the region in 2011. The participants also adopted 50:50 representation in its constitution of which at least one member should come from Zanzibar.

Other amendment was the appointment of National Director. According to the changes, apart from National Governing Council Members, the appointment will also involve the Regional Director. Other businesses discussed by the AGC include MISA-Tanzania Auditors’ report and the annual activity report.
