ICASA Probe Cell-Phone charges

The Independent Commutations Authority of South Africa(ICASA) on 30 July 2009, agreed that there  was a need to look into high cell-phone charges.

Independent Democrats (ID) Leader Patricia de Lille confirmed in a statement after talks with ICASA, by stressing that ICASA would engage with cellphone operators in this regard.

She said the communications sector regulator had also offered to co-operate with the Competition Commission in its probe into possible collusion and anti-competitive behavior by operators.
