Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) satellite develops fault
The Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (ZNBC) on 1 February 2010 announced that the Intelsat 4 (Sky) Satellite which the national broadcaster uses to transmit its Television, as well as Radio 1 and 2 programme feeds for redistribution across the country has developed a fault.

Corporation Secretary Philimon Songolo announced the development in a media statement.  Songolo said the fault on the satellite which also feeds Central and Southern Africa has led to the disruption of Radio 1 and 2 FM broadcasts as well as Television services on all ZNBC remote Television stations and the Multichoice Bouquet.

He has however, assured the nation that the Africa Union Communications, a company responsible for maintenance of the satellite distribution network in collaboration with Multichoice Africa and Intelsat are making frantic efforts to identify an alternative satellite to service Zambia and other surrounding countries. //End//
